Dignity
By Janine Elvins

Dignity
Treat me like I should be
Treat me like all I could be
Ready and willing
Steady and thrilling
Usually how the night goes down
Night gives me wings to fly
Respect seems to pass me by
Look at me like I'm different
Something strange about me
Baby I ain't nothing much
Whatca get is whatca see

I have my dignity
It likes to set me free
I save my dignity
To be used as a key

Holding' my head up higher
I'm feeling so on fire
Holding and waiting
Unfolding and relating
Getting up to get around
Babe time can only tell you
Your shinning point of view
They watch me as I pass by
Like I have done some wrong
You'll never see these eyes cry
I know I can get along

I have my dignity
It likes to set me free
I save my dignity
To be used as a key
