Sue Chun

Sue
Chun is a documentary filmmaker and passionate community
activist. She is dedicated to sharing uplifting stories about
the Canadian immigrant experience and strengthening the voices
of ethnic women.
In 2010, Sue
directed and produced 'Uncle Bob and his Vietnamese Children'.
The film details
the integration of the
Vietnamese boat people to Canadian life.
Sue is a
recipient of the
2011 Volunteer Service Youth Award from the Ontario Ministry of
Citizenship and Immigration, and the 2011 Heritage Toronto Award.
Her commitment to diversity won her the John Webb Graham Multiculturalism
Scholarship and the Ethnic Broadcasting Award in honour of
Johnny Lombardi.
Sue was among five
journalists and writers across Canada to be honoured with the prestigious 2011
Canadian Ethnic Media Association award for excellence in
journalism. The 33rd annual CEMA awards celebrate the best in
electronic and print media that reflect Canada's ethnocultural
diversity. The awards gala aired
nationwide on OMNI Television.
